This section contains documents, information, and guidelines to establish a motorcycle range.
The first step to establishing a Rider Education Recognition Program (RERP) training site is to contact your Safety Office. When the Safety Office has approved the request forward all documents and range pictures to the U.S. Army Combat Readiness Center email@example.com The Motorcycle Program coordinators will review the RERP packet for completeness and forward the packet to the Motorcycle Safety Foundation for processing.
Note: The following range descriptions are listed on the Rider Education & Training System Online Resource Guide (RETSORG) accessed by a RiderCoach on the Motorcycle Safety Foundation (MSF) Web site.
Standard Range is a full size range (120' x 220') completely free of any obstacles or problematic surface conditions. A standard range is required for the Military Sportbike Riders Course (MSRC).
Alternate Range is a range that is less than full size AND completely free of any obstacles and/or problematic surface conditions.
Modified Range is a range that is full size with obstacles and/or problematic surface conditions or other than full size with obstacles and/or problematic surface conditions.
*MSF requires ALL ranges have a minimum of 20 feet of paved runoff.
