According to the National Safety Council (NSC), approximately 245 people die of unintentional injuries in and around the home every year. In a 2011 fact sheet published by the NSC, they cite falls as the leading cause of unintentional injuries in the United States, accounting for approximately 8.9 million visits to the emergency department annually.
In addition to slips, trips and falls, electrical shocks and chemicals/poisons are also common injury producing hazards around the home. Home injuries affect family members, friends, and neighbors alike. Check out the links below to learn more ways to safe guard your family.
