The U.S. Army Combat Readiness Center (USACRC) is the repository and release authority for Army safety accident reports prepared in accordance with Department of the Army Pamphlet 385-40, Army Accident Investigation and Reporting, and Army Regulation 385-10, the Army Safety Program. The USACRC Commander has been delegated authority to act as the Initial Denial Authority (IDA) on requests for information from Army safety accident reports.

Records will be made available consistent with applicable laws and regulations. Information will be withheld from the public only if authorized by 5 U.S.C. Section 552 (Freedom of Information Act (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. Section 552a (Privacy Act), or other statutory or regulatory authority.

FOIA requests to the U.S. Army Combat Readiness Center (USACRC) may be submitted in writing, by fax, e-mail or electronic form. FOIA requesters who have any questions concerning the processing of their requests with the U.S. Army Combat Readiness Center should contact this center at (334) 255-2373. If you are not satisfied with the response from the center, you may contact the Command Judge Advocate at (334) 255-2924.

NOTE:

The U.S. Army Combat Readiness Center (USACRC) serves as the official repository and release/denial authority for Army safety accident reports. The authority of the USACRC to retain, investigate, maintain, and review records is strictly limited to Army-specific accidents. The USACRC does not have authority over Military Police Reports, Criminal Investigation Division Reports, Army Regulation (AR) 15-6 Investigations, or Line of Duty (LOD) Investigations.

For Military Police Reports, please submit FOIA requests to U.S. Army Criminal Investigation Division – Criminal Justice Information Department at https://www.cid.army.mil/Crime-Prevention/FOIA-Privacy-Act/#FOIAREQ.

For Criminal Investigation Division (CID) reports, please submit FOIA requests to U.S. Army Criminal Investigation Division – Criminal Justice Information Department, at usarmy.belvoir.hqda-usacid.mbx.crcfoiapa@army.mil.

For Combat Related/Hostile Fire incidents from Iraq, Afghanistan, or the Central Command Area of Responsibility, please submit FOIA requests to U.S. Army Central Command at usarmy.shaw.usarcent.mbx.foiateam@army.mil.

AR 15-6 investigations are administrative and completed at the unit level—15-6 investigations are available through the FOIA Office at the installation where the relevant unit is headquartered.
