Motorcycle Safety Program

Motorcycle Safety Program (MSP) and Motorcycle Safety Program Coordinator (MSPC)

The purpose of the motorcycle safety program (MSP) is to establish a brigade- or battalion-level program where experienced riders assist less experienced riders and create a supportive environment of responsible and safe riding. Such an environment creates positive behavior, serves as a force multiplier that supports a commander's motorcycle mishap prevention program and augments the Army’s Progressive Motorcycle Program.

While the program is best exercised at the lowest level possible, the first general officer/member of the senior executive service in the organization’s chain of command may determine the appropriate level for execution based on need and design.

Commanders will use the Leader’s Guide for Selecting a Motorcycle Safety Program Coordinator (MSPC) to appoint in writing a Soldier to develop, implement and support an MSP based on the needs of the organization.
