The goal of Office of Workers Compensation Programs (OWCP) is to return disabled employees to suitable work as soon as they are medically able. The longer injured workers are out of work, the less likely they are to return.

The Worker's Compensation Program provides compensation benefits to civilian employees for disability due to personal injury or disease sustained while in the performance of their duties. The program also provides for payment of benefits to dependents if a work-related injury or disease results in the employee's death.
