"Mustangs" receive the Army Safety Excellence Streamer

The 2D Brigade Support Battalion was presented the Army Safety Excellence Streamer by Col. Jay Miseli, commander 2nd Stryker Brigade Combat Team, 2nd Infantry Division at Joint Base Lewis-McChord, July 30. The Army Safety Excellence Streamer is awarded to organizations for completing 12 consecutive months without a Soldier Class A or Class B accident and all assigned personnel have completed the Army safety training and the Army Readiness Assessment program (ARAP) survey.

Safety Shout Out 371st Sustainment Brigade

The 371st Sustainment Brigade is working with its down trace unit, the 1072nd Transportation Company, to save soldiers from accidents with a new program and initiative at Camp Buehring, Kuwait.

Safety for soldiers is the first concern of every command. The 371st Sustainment Brigade is working with the 1072nd Transportation Company to implement a new safety program entitled “SAVE” Stop, Assess, Verify and Execute. The reason for the program is to decrease or even stop the increased number of accidents endangering soldiers. More>>

Ice Bridge Engineering

Alaska National Guard Soldiers with the 207th Engineer Utility Detachment and 208th Construction Management Team run hoses through an icy river to suck up and use for an ice bridging exercise at Joint Base Elmendorf-Richardson, Feb. 10, 2018. “Everybody was operating very safely,” said Sgt. Ergonomics program aims to make injuries a memory

Pennsylvania's largest industrial employer takes a scientific approach to eliminating workplace injuries.

Tobyhanna Army Depot partnered with an ergonomics expert nearly 20 years ago to study people in their working environment. The subsequent changes have had positive results on productivity and quality of life. Ergonomics is the study of how equipment and furniture can be arranged so that personnel can do work or other activities more efficiently and comfortably.

Joe O'Malley, ergonomics specialist, teaches employees how to adjust work stations and areas to minimize stress. In some instances, he recommends physical conditioning such as weightlifting and stretching. More>>

Lunar New Year & Presidents Day

This month we celebrate two significant holidays. From 15 -17 February 2018, we will observe Lunar New Year, a major Korean holiday spent with family and friends. It is a tradition when Korean families come together to honor the memory of their ancestors. February 19, 2018, is President's Day honoring past and present Commanders in Chief of our Armed Forces.

During the Korean Lunar New Year holiday period there is a high concentration of vehicular and pedestrian traffic throughout the Korean Peninsula with major traffic delays and congested roadways.
