Brigadier General John Curry

Brigadier General John Curry, a native of Havre de Grace, Maryland, received his commission as a Military Police Officer following graduation from the University of Notre Dame in . After completing the Military Police Officer Basic Course, he began his military career as both a Corps Support and Direct Support Military Police Platoon Leader in support of the 89th Military Police Brigade and the 1st Cavalry Division in Fort Hood, Texas.
Brigadier General Curry then commanded the 615th Military Police Company in the 18th Military Police Brigade at Grafenwöhr, Germany. Following his time in command, he served in a variety of assignments as an OSD/JCS Intern in the National Capital Region.
Upon completion of intermediate-level education in , Brigadier General Curry was assigned to Fort Campbell, Kentucky, where he served as the Battalion S3 and Executive Officer for the 716th Military Police Battalion (Air Assault) and as the Installation Provost Marshal until . He then became the 82nd Airborne Division Provost Marshal at Fort Bragg, North Carolina, before assuming command of the 503rd Military Police Battalion (Airborne) in .
Following Senior Service College, Brigadier General Curry deployed to Kabul, Afghanistan, in to serve as the Senior Military Advisor to the Afghan Deputy Minister of Interior for Security before returning to Carlisle Barracks, Pennsylvania, to be the Army War College G3 until . He then returned to Fort Hood, Texas, where he commanded the 89th Military Police Brigade and served as the Installation Director of Emergency Services from until . Brigadier General Curry transitioned to the Pentagon, where he served as the Contingency Operations Division Chief for the HQDA G-3/5/7 until . Most recently, he served as the Army’s Deputy Provost Marshal General until .
John is married to the former Nicole Treuting of New Orleans, Louisiana, a fellow Army brat he has known since they were eight. They have two children and a chocolate lab.
