Throwing Safety Out the Window

Several winters ago, I crashed my car into a guardrail on a desolate strip of road in northern New York. I am not proud of my actions leading up to that day. This accident could have been prevented, however, had I been honest with my leadership.

Ice is not Your Friend

Everyone is a Range Safety

It was a drill weekend and we were heading to the range for hand grenade training. I had just assumed command of my company and was eager to gauge my unit’s range safety program. Deep in IIMC

The night’s task was an AH-64D Readiness Level 3 progression local area operation including as many night and night vision system (NVS) base tasks we could complete within our three-hour period of instruction. This was our fourth flight together as a crew. Our three previous missions, flown during the day with an hour of hood training, went smoothly.
