Running a boat on Alaska’s rivers can be dangerous — even more so if you don’t know what you’re doing or are unfamiliar with the area. Proper planning and knowledge of the area, your boat and your own limitations is crucial to ensure a safe and uneventful experience.

Eye on the Ball

There wasn’t much I could’ve done to prevent that ball from hitting me. I didn’t see the little rise in the field that lofted the ball into my face. However, while I couldn’t have predicted what happened, I could’ve protected my eyes.

Pushing the Limits Safely
