The first 90 days of a deployment, especially a first-time deployment, is statistically one of the most dangerous times an aviator can face in his or her Army career.

In fiscal 2021, motorcycles accounted for 24 Soldier fatalities, up two from the previous fiscal year. Four-wheeled PMVs accounted for an additional 44 fatalities, a 52% increase from last year. There were also six pedestrian/non-motorist fatalities, which was up by one from fiscal 2020, for a total of 74 off-duty PMV-related fatalities.

Ask yourself the questions to determine if what you are about to do is going to result in the potential injury or death of yourself or others. Realize that you have the choice to not participate.
