Watch Out for the Other Guy

Road trips can be dangerous, so I always take the steps I think are necessary to be prepared. I plan ahead, check my route on the map and make sure my vehicle is serviced and ready to go. However, I could never have anticipated what happened to my family one Sunday in the Florida Panhandle.

2021 was a Rough Year

In fiscal 2021, motorcycles accounted for 24 Soldier fatalities, up two from the previous fiscal year. Four-wheeled PMVs accounted for an additional 44 fatalities, a 52% increase from last year. There were also six pedestrian/non-motorist fatalities, which was up by one from fiscal 2020, for a total of 74 off-duty PMV-related fatalities.
