The Scenic Route

I was driving along the Missouri-Arkansas state line from my home in Overland Park, Kansas, to visit relatives in Pea Ridge, Arkansas. This easy, 225-mile drive should have taken me about four hours. Instead, I arrived 24 hours late and $1,500 lighter in the wallet.

Fish or Cut Bait

If you’re not familiar with estuary wade fishing, it’s hard to explain the allure of hunting fish on foot. I normally go after the big three — speckled sea trout, redfish and flounder. What makes this kind of fishing fun is you never know what you’re going to get.
